Is it appropriate to wear makeup at work in front of male coworkers?

I heard someone saying it's inappropriate but, I found one of the female coworkers wearing makeup while she was talking to me. She just took out her nail-polish, full coverage brush and blush from her handbag and started applying the blush while talking to me.Is it appropriate to wear makeup at work in front of male coworkers?

So i'm guessing you mean is it appropriate to PUT ON make up in front of a male co-worker. it actually depends on the situation, were you talking about work stuff or just talking about personal stuff during a break? if you guys are discussing something work related it is really very inappropriate to PUT ON make up while doing so. however if the discussion is quite light hearted and has nothing to do with work i guess it would be alright to RETOUCH her make up especially if you two are quite close. however if she's putting on serious make up, as in, not just retouching but doing an ';overhaul'; i think that's taking it a bit far, it's irritating. if i were you i would excuse myself and say ';excuse me, you might want to do that in the bathroom.';
IMO, it was rude. Had it been lipgloss or chapstick it would have been alright, but putting on full coverage makeup should have been done in the restroom, or better yet before she got to work. Nail polish!!!! I'd never paint my nails at work...so that was even ruder on her part. Next time she should excuse herself to the restroom or some other setting where she can do her makeup in private.
her act is very inappropriate not because she is talking to a male coworker but because she is in a working place but I find it ok to do that in front of guys if she was somewhere els

Doing any Make up is Personnel. Should normally be done in privacy ..To add insult to Injury, if you take to Makeup in front of Males you are not only inviting comments, but may also invite trouble for yourself.
