Why do most rockstars wear eyeliners and make up that are dark colored?Why do rockstars(male) wear makeup? (Like eyeliner)?
All the above are good reasons, but the main reason performers of any kind on stage wear heavy makeup is their features flatten out and become difficult to see under stage lighting. It's important to over emphasize eyes, cheekbones and the mouth, otherwise those features disappear when seen from a distance.





Rock stars might wear darker makeup to stress the ';role'; they're playing onstage; a bad-boy, dangerous, rebellious persona. The same goes for the costumes, hair, tatoos and their ';act'; onstage. Sometimes it's an act, and sometimes it reflects their offstage reality.Why do rockstars(male) wear makeup? (Like eyeliner)?
because it is normal in that type of group in society. maybe its appealing to fans or something.
They do it, especially on stage and in videos to accentuate their features. Many guys have taken this offstage though because it is (well actually WAS) a way to be different and to stand out.
because its their style.


i think it originated from ';glam rock'; (look it up if you dont know what that is) and some bands put some eyeliner on themselves to express their style.
Because it looks hot on them, and they know it.
for a dramatic look. they wanna look evil like dracula.
To make them different than any other male singers.
they think the ';woman'; like it and they think we'll think its HOT but me personaly i don't care for men who wear makeup of any sort

because its cool and edgy and sets them apart from others! i makes them different and it looks good and i have to go so sorry this isnt very long because i have more but thats one reason!

but yeah they do wear it because their music represents something dramatic like how alot of their songs are about death and things like that so they put makeup on to look the part my cousin wears it he like steals my makeup but he and i are just alike we wear the same clothes and everything same hair ect it doesnt bother me if guys do that thing they just have to know whn its too much

And according to Brandon Flowers of the Killers (a eyeliner wearer himself) wearing eyeliner with facial hair creates a ' mysterious gypsy' feel. Maybe they like being mysterious.
some have to hide the fact that they've been doing drugs. Some just think it adds to the lights.
