Where can a get good male makeup tips? (as in mascara)?

I'm a guy and I just don't a female or gay friend that can give me good tips on makeup tips right now. I think I need a little mascara and eyeliner. I want it be tasteful in a metrosexual kind of way and don't really know where to begin. How do I pick it out? How do I put it on? I have dark brown hair if it matters.Where can a get good male makeup tips? (as in mascara)?
The only make up tip that I have gotten for men was from a gay guy in high school who taugh me how to make pouty lips. Sorry that I can't help much, I'm new to this make-up stuff to, as said as it is. From what I know, I don't like to have a lot of dark make-up around the eyes. Pick a brown mascara and that should add some definition without over doing it. Apply a little and then let it dry. Add more then dry, until you get the definition that you desire. If you want thicker lashes, hold the mascara wand horizontal when applying. For longer lashes, hold the wand in a more verticle position. A favorite technique that I like to use for the eyeliner is to take black eyeliner and carefully push it into the base of the lashes (where the lashes grow out of the lid). This makes the lashes look more defined without the eyes looking lined. Use a softer self sharpening liner rather than pencil because it's softer and easier to apply. Most of these tips are from a book on makeup that I got for my wedding. The book was written by a man, so that helps. They honestly have better taste than woman cause they know what they like to see.Where can a get good male makeup tips? (as in mascara)?

Dark Brown Shadow - and the finest ittiest-bittiest brush you can find (like from an art store) Apply along the top lash line with a damp brush.

Dont bother with Mascara - it will scream MAKE-UP!!!!
thats kind of gay.

wikihow.com has stuff from guy makeup to escapeing a mugger
ive tried expensive department store mascaras and drugstore mascaras and from my experience drugstore mascaras are way better!

i found that water proof mascara stays curled longer and won't give you those dark under eye circles after a long day. maybeline's full and soft mascara in water proof is the best. also, the eyelash curler i got was a bit more money (shu uemura) but its great. use those two together and you'll look fabulous all day long!
